What are perpetual futures?
Perpetual futures are derivative contracts that track the price of an underlying market — a cryptocurrency, index, commodity or FX pair — without an expiry date. You can hold a position for as long as your margin supports it.
How is this different from spot trading?
On spot markets you buy and own the asset itself. A perpetual future is a contract on the asset's price: you post margin rather than paying the full value, and you can profit from falling prices by going short.
What is leverage?
Leverage lets you control a larger position than your margin alone would allow — 10x leverage turns 1,000 USD of margin into a 10,000 USD position. It amplifies gains and losses equally, and you can lose more than your initial margin.
What is auto-close?
Auto-close lets you attach a price level to your position at which it closes automatically — to lock in a target or cap a loss — even when you are not watching the market.
What is the funding rate?
Funding is a small periodic payment exchanged between long and short positions that keeps the perpetual price anchored to the underlying market. It is applied every 8 hours and shown on the ticket before you trade.
